The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are actually open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house having a combined gross domestic income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house money isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide my nsfas the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not click here to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
